Relaxation and Wellbeing at School
Yoga for Schools
Find out how much you can improve mental and physical wellbeing, and learning and behaviour with Yoga in your school
Improved physical health
With rising obesity and childhood ill health, and a decrease in physical activity in school age children, Yoga can offer a fantastic way to increase children’s activity, as well as teaching strategies to relax the body in a healthy manner.
Increased mental health
Life is increasingly stressful, even at primary school age. Children are under pressure in and out of school. If they are not taught how to manage their emotions, it can lead to mental health problems in childhood and beyond. Yoga teaches healthy stress and emotion management strategies, and can teach children to find contentment and happiness within.
Improved cognitive skills
Yoga is well known for improving focus and concentration. Studies have shown that a regular Yoga and/or meditation practice can improve working memory, empathy, creativity, focus, concentration, and much more. Relaxed minds and body are better able to stay on task and work better.

About Esther, your teacher
Let us first teach little children to breathe, to vibrate, to feel, and to become one with the general harmony and movement of nature. Let us first produce a beautiful human being, a dancing child
I trained as a primary school teacher in my 20’s, and loved it. I adored being with the children, and teaching them valuable skills for the future. Unfortunately, life took me down a different path, and I didn’t make teaching my career. Now a Yoga teacher since 2014, I am passionate about the power of Yoga to teach vital wellbeing and stress control skills to young and old. Having experienced schools as staff, parent, and seeing it through my children’s eyes, I know how stressful school can be for children and teachers alike. I know that Yoga could help reduce the stress everyone feels, and help children and teachers develop vital skills to manage emotions, foster focus and concentration, and promote wellbeing.
I love to blend my past and present teaching skills and share the benefits of Yoga to local schools in the Rhondda and surrounding areas.
